Turkey said Monday that an ambulance plane has left for Gaza on Monday to take injured Palestinians to the country for treatment.
"An ambulance plane was arranged in order to bring the wounded Palestinians to Turkey" for further treatment, said state minister and government spokesman Cemil Cicek after a ministerial meeting.
Turkey has exerted efforts to end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Cicek said, adding the country will deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.www.hxen.com
Cicek also said that Turkish officials have held talks with all the parties for the immediate declaration of a cease-fire for the stability and peace in the region.
Some 900 Palestinians in the impoverished Gaza Strip have been killed and more than 4,100 others wounded since the launch of the Israeli offensive on Dec. 27, which Israel said aimed to revenge Hamas rocket and mortar attacks.
