Gwyneth Paltrow offered a Rock of Ages partEntertainment Weekly spoke with actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who revealed that she has been offered a role in Rock of Ages.
It isn't clear what role she has been offered at this time, but the actress seemed excited about the project while at the premiere of her new movie, Country Strong. Here is what she said:
It sounds cool. I just got the script and I will read it on the plane home tomorrow. But it sounds like it could be fun."
Producer Jenno Topping confirmed at the premiere that Tom Cruise is still in talks for a role in the musical. We reported a few weeks ago that singer/actress Mary J. Blige was in talks to portray Justice Charlier, the owner of an exotic dance club on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. That report also indicated that Tom Cruise was interested in playing a villainous singer named Stacee Jaxx instead of nightclub owner Dennis Dupree.
Adam Shankman is directing from a script by Chris D'Arienzo, who adapted his own stage play. Adam Shankman is also choreographing all of the dance numbers.
No production schedule has been released for Rock of Ages at this time.
Rock of Ages comes to theaters in 2011.
