The news agency reported an official as saying that preparations were underway for the next Shenzhou launch. The Shenzhou VI is expected to blast off within the next 2 years. Shenzhou V carried a Chinese astronaut aloft. He circled the Earth 14 times during his 21-hour trip, October 15-16, 2003, making China the third country to put a man into space.
