Scenes from Chelsea Clinton's wedding day. Guests arrived in Rhinebeck, New York to celebrate the former first daughter's marriage to her longtime beau Marc Mezvinsky.
Media estimates had put the cost at the nuptials between 3 million and 5 million dollars. State police were working with the US secret service on security for former president Bill Clinton, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and more than 400 expected guests.
The wedding took place at Astor Courts, a historic 58-acre estate along the Hudson River. The small town of Rhinebeck, 100 miles north of New York city was bustling with activity and residents offered their blessings.
"Wish them a happy long life. Happiness together, family, you know. They seem to be a very nice couple."
"I think the village rhymed because they've been very honoured to have this event here and it's been a tremendous amount of fun. And it's just been, it's full of joy. It's made people very happy. Yeah, a lot of people very happy."
NBC News reported that the wedding menu consisted of vegan fair and gluten-free cake to cater to Chalsea Clinton's wheat allergy.
