[00:00.00]Twenty years slipped by
[00:02.50]and John Love died
[00:04.15]at the early age of 47.
[00:06.23]Several years later, son James
[00:09.18]and his family, as well
[00:11.59]as widow Lily, his Mother,
[00:13.56]made the decision to leave Pennsylvania
[00:16.40]and settle in Canada.
[00:18.48]They made the arduous trek
[00:20.56]over Indian trails, crossing
[00:23.51]the Niagara River to settle
[00:25.37]in what we now call Ontario.
[00:28.33]I am a Canadian.
[00:31.06]Having traced my roots
[00:33.14]and followed in the footsteps
[00:35.22]of these early settlers,
[00:36.97]I feel a sense of gratitude
[00:38.72]to my ancestors who
[00:40.36]faced extreme difficulties
[00:42.00]and severe hardship to
[00:44.19]settle in a new land.
[00:46.60]Liberty, then and in today’s world,
[00:50.21]is a priceless inheritance.
[00:52.51]Once more, I glanced
[00:55.57]at the silver pin before
[00:57.65]returning it to the velvet box.
[01:00.05]Once again, I questioned,
[01:02.35]“What did I inherit
[01:04.43]from my Love ancestors?”
[01:06.95]I realize the answer has been
[01:09.36]revealed while writing this story.
[01:11.87]I have determination, strength, loyalty
[01:16.46]and a love of adventure.
[01:18.65] This is my inheritance.
