Jazz guitarist and composer Chuck Loeb is the consummate world traveler. His music has taken him around the globe, including frequent tours to Europe and Asia.

The ever-busy Chuck Loeb has mastered the fine art of time management. When he's not producing some of today's top jazz acts or performing as a guest player, Loeb continues to carve out an impressive solo career. Add to that his passion for travel and you'll sometimes find him working on his latest project in a foreign country.

Mixing business with pleasure during a trip to Germany last year, Loeb booked a recording studio in Berlin to work on four songs for his new album "Between 2 Worlds." One song is dedicated to his former teacher, renowned guitarist Pat Metheny.

Among Loeb's earliest mentors was jazzman Jim Hall, who Loeb describes as "a guitarist's guitarist." In turn, Hall has become one of Loeb's biggest fans, saying "Chuck's extraordinary talents have allowed him to explore every facet of guitar playing."

From Between 2 Worlds, Chuck Loeb's "The Great Hall," is inspired by guitar veteran Jim Hall.

The album is something of a family affair, with Loeb's wife Carmen and his daughter Lizzy providing vocal accompaniment on several tracks.

Helping out on the Loeb original "Let's Go" are two prominent names from the "smooth" jazz world, trombonist Brian Culbertson and saxophonist Eric Marienthal.
