英语文摘:Madonna's love letters, erotic tapes under the hammer

BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Some of Madonna's innermost and personal effects are to be auctioned this week including love letters and erotic answering machine messages to an ex-boyfriend dating back to the 1990s.

    The items on sale in New York City may fetch up to 40,000 U.S. dollars according to some estimates. The faxed love letters to then-boyfriend Jim Albright and answering machine messages are part of nearly 500 celebrity items for sale. Among the other items of interest is a Jimi Hendrix one dollar performance contract and boxer Mohammad Ali's training robe. The online auction is set to end on August 5.
