BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhuanet) -- The theme for Tuesday's "American Idol" is nostalgic Hollywood movie songs, foreign media reports said.
Crystal Bowersox's stunningly expressive performance of "Caddyshack" theme song "I'm Alright" impressed the critical judges. According to ntdailynews.com, judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi thought she sang it better than the song's original singer, while Simon Cowell said she was "back in the game."
Lee DeWyze came up with Seal's "Kiss from a Rose" from "Batman Forever." Unfortunately he failed to gain as much approval as Bowersox did.
Big Mike chose a song from "Free Willy", on which Kara commented, "you played it safe. What you did tonight, you can do in your sleep."
Casey James picked "The Graduate" song "Mrs Robinson", which Simon didn't like, although the audience seemed to buy it.
Undoubtedly Crystal Bowersox was the winner of the night.
