A brilliant clearance in the decisive eighth frame sends Marco Fu with 5-4 victory over World No 1 Stephen Hendry to reach the last 16 of ongoing 2007 World Snooker China Open.

Sober and light-hearted, the Hong Kong gentleman, even hungry of victory, contributes his success into pre-game self-psychological hint.

"I told myself to keep calm, even in the last frame, for overmuch losing previously reminds me of being self-possessed while of course, I am biding the time for win without any pressure,' Fu said of his performance at the after-match press conference.

Hendry had come from 3-1 down to lead 4-3 due to breaks of 108, 53 and 54. The Snooker King looked set for victory in the next after a run of 58.

But Hong Kong's Fu knocked in a long red and compiled a superb 72 clearance, finding his target with several awkward pots inclusing the last red along the side cushion into a baulk corner.

The crucible semi-finalist then clinched victory in the decider with a break of 63.

"I felt confident because I prepared well for the match," said world No 22 Fu. "Even in the last frame I felt calm.

Fu added: "Six Chinese players won their matches yesterday, I'm very happy to see the young talent coming through."

Fu still shows high respect towards the Hendry, "In my mind, he remains great player, for perhaps you audiences has much higher requirement for him."

He early ousts opponent (against Michael Judge) 10-9 to advance next month's Championship in the finalist, from where he has learned 'how to deal with the pressure when he has chance he took it.
