LONDON, June 9 (Xinhua) -- World No. 1 Rafael Nadal from Spain and Serbia's second seed Novak Djokovic both enjoyed comfortable wins at the ATP Queen's Club grass-court tournament on Wednesday.
Nadal, coming to London with his fresh fifth title from the French Open, powered past Brazilian Marcos Daniel 6-2, 6-2 in his opening match, setting up a third-round clash with Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan.
Istomin, seeded 16th, defeated Dustin Brown of Jamaica 7-6(7), 6-4.
Nadal, 24, also played his first round doubles match with Marc Lopez, beating German Rainer Schuettler and Serbian Janko Tipsarevic in straight sets.
The Spaniard had planned to play the doubles as a warmup for the singles event, but his doubles match was postponed from Tuesday to Wednesday due to rain-delayed schedule and was arranged to show after his singles match.
Nadal's singles match was also intervened by rain at the beginning of the second set, but only for several minutes.
