BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Qatari pilot Nasser Al-Attiyah, the current Rally Dakar champion, on Monday won the second stage of car division competition and Uruguayan pilot Sergio La Fuente won in the motorcycle division competition.
Al-Attiyah, from Hummer team, finished with a time of 2 hours, 47 minutes and 18 seconds (02:47:18) in the 290-kilometer special race between Argentine cities of Santa Rosa, in La Pampa province and San Rafael, in Mendoza province, in central Argentina.
Behind Al-Attiyah was French pilot Stephane Peterhansel, from Mini team with a difference of 54 seconds.
While Uruguayan pilot Sergio La Fuente, from Yamaha team, on Monday won the second stage in the motorcycle division.
La Fuente, who also won on Sunday, finished with a time of 3 hours, 49 minutes and 56 seconds, the 295 kilometers race, leading the division's general ranking.
Argentines Alejandro Patronelli, from Yamaha team and 2011 champion, Tomas Maffei also from Yamaha and Marcos Patronelli, 2010 champion, followed La Fuente.
In accumulated time, La Fuente has an advantage of 6 minutes, 34 seconds (06:34) over Alejandro Patronelli, 09:42 over Maffei and 09:48 over Marcos Patronelli.
