Top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao have separately met with visiting Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych in Beijing.
During the meeting, Wu Bangguo said China would like to enhance high-level communication with Ukraine, deepen mutual trusts and expand pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
The National People's Congress has a sound base of collaboration with Ukraine's parliament. Wu Bangguo hopes the two sides could further enhance communication in areas such as legislation and legal supervision. Premier Wen Jiabao says a joint statement signed between the two nations shows shared interests between China and Ukraine in various areas. The two countries should further deepen trade ties by establishing key cooperative projects, so economic ties between the two could enjoy sustainable growth.
Yanukovych says Ukraine is also committed to working with China to push cooperation in multiple fields to new heights.
