Tudou has hired Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank for its initial public offering on the Nasdaq. The Chinese online video website hopes to raise over 100 million dollars in the US.
Sources say Tudou is hoping to list in the first quarter. Singapore state investment firm Temasek announced in August, it had invested 35 million US dollars in Tudou. The venture-backed company streams millions of online videos and original content daily. It also allows users to share files, in a similar way to Google's YouTube.
A major domestic competitor is Youku also backed by venture capital. And a bit of trivia Tudou means "potato" in Chinese.
