For most of us, playing the piano is a dream, easy to long for but hard to achieve. But not for an armless Chinese pianist.
He shot to domestic fame, playing the piano with his toes on the popular television show "China's Got Talent". Now, he's set to take his unique skill on a world tour.
If not for seeing it with your own eyes, you wouldn't believe toes could play such a beautiful tune.
23-year-old Liu Wei played his own composition "Hope" in a farewell concert on Monday in Beijing before setting out on a global tour, including stops in the US, Austria, Hong Kong and the UK.
He lost both arms at the age of ten when he was electrocuted during a game of hide-and-seek.
The young man started playing the piano five years ago, often practicing for seven hours a day, training his toes to tickle the ivories.
He believes his determination to succeed made him a hit with the "China's Got Talent" audiences.
Liu Wei, Winner, China's Got Talent, said, "I feel that I'm no different from other people. I've lost my two arms, but all the same, I can still do and pursue the things I like. I suppose that this is what other people appreciated about me."
Although he still needs help getting dressed and eating, he's quite capable of doing things like playing video games on his i-pad.
Liu was signed by Freemantle Media and Sony Music. His schedule is currently so busy that he says he barely has time to meet up with friends.
But he does hope to spend a few days away from the bright lights and cameras, with his parents and younger sister before taking his talent on stage around the world.
