Nobel recognition has done nothing to harm sales of Mo Yan’s books across China. His name has quickly become an internet buzzword and his works are selling like hot cakes.
In Hong Kong, many bookstores sold out of Mo Yan books within hours of the prize announcement. Stores said they were swamped by avid fans, looking for some of the author’s lesser know earlier works. The most well known of Mo Yan’s titles are all sold out.
