So the event has been a showcase for China's emerging pol of golfing talent. Ye is not the only youngster who has impressed.Jonas Gilbart has more on Ye and another remarkable performance from a teen in Tianjin.

With his history making turn this week at the Volvo China Open, 12 year old Ye Wo-Cheng has entered the conversation to become the next face of Chinese golf. Although he didn’t make the cut, finishing at 14-over after back to back 79’s. The braces wearing youngster showed plenty of promise and also a surprising level of maturity in his first attempt at competing against some of the best men in the world.

Ye Wocheng, 12-year-old golfer, said, "It wasn’t that good, I missed some birdies. If there is a lot of wind, it hurts my distance. I will need to find someplace windy to learn how to play in that condition."

But for all the hype over Ye. It was another Chinese teen that stole some of his thunder. 16 year old Dou Ze-Cheng, unmistakable in his bucket hat, was the low amateur to make the cut finishing Friday’s round two at 2-under a remarkable achievement.

Dou said, "I don’t have much pressure. I just came here to play with the high level golfers and learn from them. I set my goal low, to enjoy it and play well...I didn’t set my goal to finish in the top ranks.
