The world's first circular high-speed railway will go into service on Wednesday in south China's Hainan island. Ticket sales have already started.
The entire loop is over 650 kilometers, with 29 stops along it. It will make traveling all the way around the island a little more than 3 hours long. Three sections of the railway is parallel with the coastline, giving passengers a lovely sea view. Timed with the opening of the railway, local tourism authorities are making many scenic spots along the railway either free of charge, or with discounted tickets from December 31 to January 29th.
On the first day of operations tomorrow, there'll be 49 trains in service, with the first, to set out from Haikou station at 9:40 in the morning.
