(HO CHI MINH CITY, May 29) The Republic of Korea enjoyed a victory over Japan in a group B match of the AFC Women's Asian Cup at Thong Nat Stadium in Vietnam on Thursday.Although the Republic of Korea was put in a disadvantageous position by a Japanese goal in the 8th minute, Cha Yun-hee soon found the net for the ROK. Park Hee-young’s two goals in the 31st and 54th minutes extended the lead for the ROK, despite Japan’s domination of the second half. As the match drew to a close, Japan pressed forward, and Mizuho Sakaguchi’s shot rattled the post, but they were unable to break the defense. The match ended 3-1.
