名人教英文：人蠢无药医
人蠢无药医，系事实陈述，一句statement of fact。英文是——
1. there is no medicine for stupidity.
2. there is no cure for stupidity.
第1句比第2句更通用﹔medicine系「药」，cure解「治疗」。
这句话，通常前面会多加一个字，sadly（悲哀地、遗憾地），以加重一点嘲讽。
sadly there's no cure for stupidity.「遗憾人蠢真系无药医」。这番遗憾，有点像我们口语的「对不起啰」，带好些言不由衷。若要继续说下去，指此人如此地蠢，「算罢啦」﹕we have to give up on him.
give up，放弃﹔但感情上放弃一个人，是give up on。
一直有科学家想研究出「聪明药」，但已有所谓anti-stupidity pill、「抗蠢丸」，其实都不过是移走脑细胞中的过度活跃（hyperactivity）成分——让病人不要太hyper（过度活跃），不要看似神经兮兮——同时也帮助稳定短期记忆力（short-term memory），亦即帮助改善注意力，不要心散，学东西就比较容易上手。
