上周提到，写应征信要字字斟酌，以免用字或文法出错。今次我会指出一些比较常见的错误。

简单句的主要动词只有一个。以上一句没有任何连接词，是简单句而非复句（complex sentence）或者合句（compound sentence），所以不应该有refer和am writing两组动词。这句可改写成：with reference to the advertisement in xxx, i am writing to apply for the position....
?i have a heart to pursue a career in the public sector.
英文的确有have a heart一语，但意思不是「有心做某事」，而是「行好心」。例如：have a heart! they need your help. 如果要表达自己「有心」从事某行业，可以说：i am keen to pursue a career in ....
?i have a passion in/ towards community service.
