Unit 16 concluding a contract
Mr Yu, pruchasing manger of NNC company is on the discussion with counter part Mr sean, marketing manager of EIF company limited, talking abour concrete contract terms for the improt business of PAA into China.
S:Good morning, Mr Yu.
Y:Good noring ,Mr sean.
S:Very pleased to see that we are about to come to the conclusion of the contract after our discussion these days, then will have to settle the time of delivery first.
Y:Well, we are also happy with the progress we have made in this exhibit. as we consider you are our reliable supplier for PAA one of our most important chemical materials.
S:I'm glad you can say so. So let's get down to the business. As we expressed yesterday our supplier's ation in a position to meet your demand of prompt delivery at present, since we have to perform the existing contract which have engaged our product all this month. In this case, if it could be granted fifteen days for delivery, I mean shippment by June fifteen then they will be no problem with it .
Y:We understand your situation, Mr sean. But as you know our manufactory in China is in urgent need of the in view of our long-term cooperation we'll like to suggest you consider that five hundred kilograms of so whole consignment should be dispatched by air, by tenth of June. Here is the air freignt list for your information.
S:OK, let me see. Well , it sounds like a good idea. We like to accept your proposal as a favorable treatment to our old friend.
Y:Good. Then let's colid a deal.
S: Well I get my secretary to prepare the contract right away. Here we are. This contract for your prosal and signature.
Y:Thanks. So price terms have been stated into parts.Thirty metric tons will be at two thousand eight hundred and fifty US dollars per metric ton CIF Xinggang by sea. Another five hundred metric tons at five thounsand three nundred and twenty US dollars per metric ton CIF Beijing by air. Packing in two hundred kilograms per drawn. Payment by L/C side. Mr Tian, we've talked fo the past few days and reach agreement on all the clauses discussed to far.I think it was time to sign the contract.
T:Right. But we'd better have another check on all the clauses one by one to see whether there's still anything unclear or missing.
