BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- China, Belarus vowed to deepen cooperation in various spheres on Friday.
The pledge was made during a meeting between Senior Chinese official Meng Jianzhu and Belarusian Deputy Director of the Presidential Office Nikolay Snopkov.
Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the China-Belarus intergovernmental committee of cooperation has played an important role in implementing the consensus reached by both leaders and promoting pragmatic cooperation in all sectors.
He said China is ready to make joint efforts with Belarus to deepen cooperation in economics and trade, science and technology, education, culture and security.
Snopkov said Belarus has attached great importance to developing ties with China and is willing to strengthen all-round strategic cooperation.
On Thursday, Meng met with Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev in Beijing.
Meng said China is ready to make concerted efforts with Uzbekistan to build the Silk Road Economic Belt in line with the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits.
He called for close coordination between the two sides in preparing for the third meeting of China-Uzbekistan intergovernmental committee of cooperation, which is slated for June in eastern China's Shandong Province.
Uzbekistan views China as its main strategic partner and a reliable friend, said Ganiev, adding that it is willing to participate in the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
