BEIJING, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency, China's largest national news service, began offering new information services focusing on providing economic and financial information for investors in the Belt and Road Initiative on Thursday.
The move is considered to be another strategic step for Xinhua News Agency to transform its business model and expand global influence.
The China Economic Information Service is committed to offering quality information to facilitate policy communication, trade, financial and cultural exchanges within the Belt and Road region. It is expected to help Xinhua partners better seize business opportunities and eliminate risks.
The core product of the new service is Xinhua Silk Road, which includes the Silk Road Database, Xinhua Credit Reports, Consulting & Thinktank Services and an interactive and business match-making Xinhua Silk Road IM System.
The China Economic Information Service will soon release a risk review report on countries along the Belt and Road Initiative to offer investors insight of possible political, economic, sovereignty credit and social risks.
It has sent sales managers to countries along the Belt and Road and dispatched business representatives across the nation to offer customized research and consulting services to investors drawing on the strength of Xinhua' s vast national and global presence.
The Belt and Road Initiative is a trade and infrastructure network including the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road proposed by China in 2013. The network connects Asia, Europe and Africa and passes through more than 60 countries and regions with a population of 4.4 billion.
