TIANJIN, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Guo Shengkun, China's public security minister, vowed unremitting efforts Monday when handling the aftermath of two deadly explosions that shook northern city of Tianjin.

"We will continue all-out efforts to search for any signs of life, and we will take every possible measure when treating the injured," Guo said during a rescue operation meeting.

On Aug. 12, two huge explosions tore through a warehouse storing hazardous goods in Tianjin, killing 114 and leaving 70 missing.

Those affected must be relocated, and the cleanup operation must ensure the rescuers' safety and prevent secondary accidents, said Guo.

Environment staff must improve air, water and soil monitoring, and release information in a timely manner. The people must be the first to know the real picture, he stressed.

The investigation team should ensure it identifies the cause of the accident so that those responsible are brought to justice.

Tianjin authorities must be strong and organize sound rescue and reconstruction work, Guo said.
