BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with chair of the African Union (AU) Commission Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in Beijing on Tuesday.
"China attaches great importance to China-Africa ties," Wang said, adding China-AU cooperation has strongly boosted the relations between China and Africa and promoted the unity and cooperation among developing countries.
Wang said China will work with the AU closely to implement President Xi Jinping's promise of assistance, boost cooperation on Africa's infrastructure and industrialization, and support Africa's efforts to improve its public health system.
Within the framework of the forum on China-Africa cooperation, a summit of China and African countries is slated for next month in South Africa. Wang said China will work with the AU and other members of the forum to take the opportunity to enhance unity and cooperation between China and Africa.
Hailing China's enduring support for Africa, especially its contribution against the Ebola epidemic, Zuma said the AU will work with China to realize sustainable development in Africa, looking forward to more assistance from China.
Zuma said the AU and African countries think highly of the upcoming summit, adding that he is sure the summit will be a "historic" one in the Africa-China relationship.
