SANTIAGO, Nov.12 (Xinhua) -- Chilean President Michelle Bachelet held talks here Wednesday with Sun Chunlan, head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Sun conveyed the cordial greetings and good wishes of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Bachelet.
Hailing the China-Chile relations, Sun said that China is ready to join hands with the Chilean side to implement the new blueprint for deepening the mutually beneficial cooperation laid out by leaders from both countries when they met last year.
The CPC would strengthen exchanges with the Chilean ruling coalition so that the two sides could learn from each other and promote the development of the strategic partnership, Sun said.
Sun brief the Chilean president on China's economic situation and the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC.
Sun stressed that in the next five years, China will fully implement the development concept of innovation, coordination, green development, opening-up and spirit of sharing to achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in a timely manner, which will bring about new opportunities for cooperation between China and Latin American countries including Chile.
Sun's remarks were echoed by Bachelet, who noted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Chile diplomatic ties and Chile is ready to work with China to further promote the strategic partnership between the two countries.
China's development and progress are of global significance and would benefit people all over the world, Bachelet said.
Bachelet also said she sincerely hoped for the successful implementation of China's 13th Five-Year Plan and even greater achievements under the leadership of the CPC.
During her visit, Sun also met with Marco Antonio Nunez, speaker of the Chilean House of Representatives, and leaders of the ruling coalition parties.
