LONDON, June 2 (Xinhua) -- England boosted for the European Championships as they beat Belgium 1-0 for the second win in warm-up friendlies on Saturday.
Danny Welbeck scored seven minutes before the break to give England the victory, producing another one-goal game for the highly-expected team.
Dries Mertens's goal in the 17th minute for Belgium was denied as referees whistled on a shove on Gary Cahill. Cahill was sent for a precautionary X-ray on his jaw after he left the pitch with blood.
England will kick off their Euro 2012 opener against France in Donetsk on June 11.
