RIO DE JANEIRO, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Goals from either side of the break from Santiago Silva and Juan Sanchez Mino gave Boca Juniors a 2-0 victory over Universidad de Chile in their Copa Libertadores semifinal first leg on Thursday.
Silva opened the scoring on 15 minutes at the Bombonera Stadium in Buenos Aires with a neat turn and finish after Pablo Moucho's cross.
Nine minutes into the second half Universidad goalkeeper Johnny Herrera saved a Walter Erviti shot from close range only for Mino to bundle in the rebound.
The teams will meet in the second leg in Santiago next Thursday with the aggregate winner advancing to the final against the victor of the other semifinal between Corinthians and Santos.
Corinthians won the first leg 1-0 away from home, with the return match to be played at the Pacaembu Stadium in Sao Paulo on Wednesday.
