WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Former Masters champion Fred Couples of the United States was elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
With 15 wins on the PGA Tour including the 1992 Masters and two at The Players Championship, Couples, 52 years old, was nicknamed "Boom-Boom" and competed five times each in the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup.
He was ranked world No. 1 for several months in 1992 and now plays on the Champions Tour.
