TEHRAN, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- India held China to 2-2 in Group D encounter of 2012 AFC U-16 Championship here on Thursday.
China conceded a stoppage time penalty to stay out of the quarterfinals of the competitions.
In the simultaneous match in Group D, Uzbekistan lost to Syria 1-0. Syria finished top of the group with 5 points followed by Uzbekistan with 4.
From the Group C, South Korea advanced to the next stage of the quarterfinals with a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia and Japan booked its place for the next stage by defeating DPR Korea 3-0.
In the quarterfinals scheduled for Sunday, Iran, the hosts and the top finisher in Group A, will clash with Group B runners-up Australia, while Iraq who led Group B will meet Group A runners-up Kuwait.
Also, South Korea will play Uzbeks and Syria will compete against Japan on Sunday matches.
