BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese diver Qin Kai avenged his Olympic loss against Russian Illya Zakharov by winning the men's three-meter springboard at Diving World Series here on Saturday.

Zakharov turned over China's defending champion He Chong and Qin Kai to win men's three-meter springboard at the London Olympic Games, but this time in Beijing he was inferior to the two Chinese divers.

Qin, Olympic silver medalist in this category, was slightly behind Ukraine's Kvasha Illya after first two dives. Qin took the lead with a near perfect third dive, which registered 99.75 points, and never looked back.

Zakharov and He tied in second place behind Qin before the last decisive dives. Zakharov had a flaw in his last move, and only collected 74.10 points to settle for a bronze, while He presented a stable dive to take the silver with 521.50 points, 27.15 points less than winner Qin.

"Every match has winner and loser, this is a normal competition, and I was stable and I win," said Qin when being asked about his avenge of his Olympic loss.

He/Qin also joined hand in strength to claim the men's three-meter springboard synchro title on Friday.

Olympic champion He Zi asserted her dominance in women's three-meter springboard by winning with a 60.45 points margin to silver medalist Jennifer Abel of Canada, who amassed 335.20 points, while the bronze medal was snatched by Tania Cagnotto of Italy with 330.70 points.

Six Olympic diving medalist Wu Minxia was absent from the Beijing Stop due to lack of training, the 22-year-old He Zi said she felt a bit lonely without Wu. "I'd like to have teammates alongside myself during competition, but if in the future I have to participate on my own, I should get used to it."

The Chinese diving "Dream Team" claimed all of the six gold medals on offer after day two at the Diving World Series Beijing Stop.

FINA Diving World Series 2013 features six stops, namely Beijing, Dubai, Edinburgh, Moscow, Guadalajara and Mexico City. From March 15-17, more than 60 world-class divers representing 12 countries will compete in the opening stop.
