TEGUCIGALPA, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The soccer team Real Sociedad Sunday defeated Olimpia 1-0 in the first match of Honduras' Clausura Tournament finals.
Olimpia is seeking its fourth consecutive championship but they faced a very tough Real Sociedad, who played as hosts but did not take full advantage of the expulsion of two rival players.
When Olimpia was playing with nine men, Diego Reyes scored a goal 20 minutes before the end of the game.
Olimpia' s defender Johnny Palacios was expelled in the first half of the game, while right defender Javier Portillo was expelled at minute 68 after he complained for a fault against him.
Despite Real Sociedad dominated the second half of the game, the team could not achieve a better result that benefits it for the return game, to be played next Sunday in Tegucigalpa.
Olimpia is the team who has won more championships, including the last three in a row.
In case Olimpia wins the finals, the team will achieve its 25th championship in the Honduran league, which began in 1965.
