ROME, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Fifth seed Rafael Nadal reached his eighth final in a row on Saturday as he beat Tomas Berdych 6-2, 6-4 to reach the Italian Open final.
The final could be a dream for the fans if second seed Roger Federer beats French upstart Benoit Paire in the other semi-final.
Berdych, who ousted world number one Novak Djokovic, was given little chance facing six-time champion Nadal, who converted three of all four break points to seal the win. Berdych got three break points but converted none.
Nadal has now reached eight finals in as many events since his return from a seven-month injury lay-off.
The women's final will be played between top seed Serena Williams and third seed Viktoria Azarenka.
In the semi-finals, Williams beat qualifier Simona Halep of Romania 6-3, 6-0, while Azarenka held off seventh seed Italian Sara Errani 6-0, 7-5.
