JERUSALEM, June 6 (Xinhua) -- In a highlight match of 2013 UEFA U-21 championship tournament on Thursday, the Netherlands earned an opening victory against Germany 3-2 after a crucial goal on the 90th minute.
On 24 minutes and 39 minutes the Netherlands scored two goals by Adam Maher and Georginio Wijnaldum respectively, and kept their lead till the end of the first half.
After the restart, Germany began their rounds of attacks. Sebastian Rudy and Lewis Holtby marked two goals to put the match to a draw towards the ending.
On the 90th minute, Leroy Fer from the Netherlands scored a winning goal and offered his team an opening victory in the group match.
In the other match on Thursday of Group B, the championship holder Spain kicked off with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Russia.
