MADRID, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Spanish international Sergio Busquets has renewed his contract with Barcelona and will stay in the Spanish La Liga giants till 2018, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old midfielder can also opt to play for the Catalans for another year after the deal, with a new buyout clause of 150 million euros, expires in 2018.
Busquets debuted for the Barcelona first team in 2008 and has made 148 league appearances with 4 goals, helping Barca to win four league titles, two Champions Leagues and two Copa del Rey titles.
Receiving the first call-up from the Spanish senior team in 2009, Busquets has earned 59 international caps and won the 2010 World Cup as well as the the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
