BUENOS AIRES, June 16 (Xinhua) -- The footballing stars of Argentina lamented their 1-1 draw against Iceland on Saturday, while agreeing that "this has just begun."
"The first game is always difficult, but now we have to think about Croatia," said striker Sergio "Kun" Aguero, who scored against Iceland in Moscow.
The player from Manchester City scored his first World Cup goal in three appearances but said the result had been "a triumph" for Iceland.
Speaking to Argentina's TyC Sports minutes after the game, Aguero said "this has just begun and there is still a lot left."
Concerning the missed penalty by Lionel Messi, he said that "it's normal, it's human, sometimes things happen. It is not a good day for him but we know, at any time, he can define a game."
Javier Mascherano, 34, playing in his fourth World Cup, said that "we have to keep going, this is just beginning and we cannot fall apart."
The footballer said that "this was not our day, our rivals had fewer chances to score and they took it."
The team will next play against Croatia on June 21 and Nigeria on June 26.
The South Americans won the World Cup at Argentina 1978 and Mexico 1986, and lost 1-0 to Germany in the final of Brazil 2014.?
