ISLAMABAD, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani and Indian military officials talked over a hotline to ease tension, a day after Indian troops fired and killed two Pakistani civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir region, the Pakistani military said late Saturday.

"An unscheduled Pak-India DGMO (Director General Military Operations) Hot Line contact was made today (Saturday). Indian Army was conveyed that continued deliberate targeting of innocent civilians along LoC lately in Nezapir, Chirikot and Battal sectors are highly uNPRofessional and unethical," a statement from the Pakistani army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said.

"Such provocations also causing loss of innocent civilian lives are potentially dangerous to invoke an unbearable response," the statement said.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry said on Friday that two civilians were killed and five others injured as the result of "uNPRovoked ceasefire violations" by the Indian forces.

Pakistan and India declared ceasefire along the LoC in 2003. However, troops of both countries occasionally exchange fire.
