(BEIJING, June 5) -- The 2008 BG Triathlon World Championships kicked off at the English Bay and Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada, on June 5. Three thousand athletes from more than 60 countries will participate in this 20th edition of the event in International Triathlon Union (ITU) history.The event will start with the Junior Women's competition at 7 a.m., local time, on Thursday and conclude on June 8 with the Elite Men's and Women's races. The top three medalists from each group will automatically qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
